Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using SelfAgent ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. The Software is free

SelfAgent is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You are responsible for any costs you incur with third-party model providers or services you choose to connect (e.g. API usage fees).

2. Your responsibilities

• You supply and secure your own API keys, credentials, and servers.
• You are responsible for everything the agent does on your behalf, including actions it takes in your browser, on your computer, or via connected services.
• You will use the Software lawfully and in line with our Acceptable Use Policy and the terms of every third-party provider/service you connect.
• You should review sensitive actions. The Software includes approval gates for risky actions, but you remain accountable for granting access and approving actions.

3. AI output

AI models can be wrong, incomplete, or biased. Output is provided for assistance only and is not professional (legal, financial, medical, etc.) advice. Verify important results before relying on them.

4. Third-party services

The Software connects to providers and services you choose. Your use of those is governed by their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

5. No warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SELFAGENT PROJECT AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE — INCLUDING ACTIONS TAKEN AUTONOMOUSLY BY THE AGENT.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the SelfAgent project and contributors from claims arising out of your use of the Software or your violation of these Terms.

8. Changes & termination

We may update these Terms or the Software at any time. You may stop using and uninstall the Software at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. License

Your right to use the Software is described in the License.
