SelfAgent is a self-hosted, local-first AI agent. It runs entirely on your own device or your own server. We (the SelfAgent project) do not operate a central server that processes your conversations, and we do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data.
SelfAgent runs on your machine. Your chats, files, settings, and API keys are stored locally on that machine (for example under your user data folder, or in the app's data directory on a VPS). They are not transmitted to us.
When you ask the agent to do something, your prompt (and any content needed for the task) is sent directly from your machine to the model provider you configured (e.g. Groq, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, OpenRouter, or a local model such as Ollama where nothing leaves your device). Those providers process that data under their own privacy policies and terms. Similarly, if you use web browsing, search, email, Telegram/Discord, or MCP connectors, data flows directly between your machine and those services. Please review the policies of any provider or service you connect.
The SelfAgent application contains no telemetry, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. This website may be served by a static host (e.g. a CDN) which can keep standard server logs (such as IP and user-agent) for security and reliability; we do not use them to identify you.
Because everything is local, you are in full control. You can delete conversations, clear memory, remove keys, or uninstall the app to remove all associated data from your device.
SelfAgent is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) and should not be used by them.
We may update this policy as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
